Celine Lam

PAINTER

Based in New York, United States, b.1999

Celine Lam is a mixed-media artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently pursuing her MFA at Hunter College and holds a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design. Rooted in an exploration of dualities and opposing forces, Lam’s practice navigates the material and conceptual tensions inherent in contemporary life. Through abstract imagery, gestural mark-making, and the use of unconventional surfaces such as calligraphy practice paper, she examines the anxieties and sensibilities shared by her generation. Her work often takes the form of mixed-media paintings and sculptural paper constructions, engaging both fragility and resistance. Lam's work has been exhibited internationally in New York, Shanghai, Mexico, and Hong Kong.
