Linlin Ran

PAINTER

Based in XX, China, b. 199X

Linlin Ran’s artistic practice centers on water, light, life, and the cosmos, exploring the relationship between materiality, perception, and consciousness. Through the fluid interaction of water and pigment, she transforms spontaneous material processes into visual expressions of inner experience, allowing color, texture, and movement to become carriers of sensation and emotion.

Influenced by Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology of perception, Ran approaches artistic creation as a process of embodied engagement with the world. Her practice moves between conscious intention and unconscious gesture, materiality and imagination, constructing fluid pictorial spaces in which perception is continuously formed and reconfigured.

Rather than representing the natural world, Ran seeks to evoke its underlying mystery and vitality. Through the tension between the tangible and the intangible, her works create contemplative spaces that invite viewers to reconnect with their own sensory experience and reconsider their relationship with the world.
