Chuanduan Chen

PHOTOGRAPHER

Based in Suzhou, China, b.1994

Chuanduan Chen is a contemporary image-maker whose practice navigates the interstices between documentary photography, emotional introspection, and speculative imagination. His early works emerged from a deeply personal visual language, engaging with the psychological residues of lived experience while probing the fractured relationship between humans and the natural world amid modern existential dislocation.

Fascinated by natural sciences, mysticism, and the metaphysical potential of image-making, Chen frequently constructs fictional and allegorical narratives to challenge conventional boundaries of documentary realism. His imagery becomes a site where ecological grief, cultural memory, and mythic imagination converge.
