Wenwei Chen

PHOTOGRAPHER

Based in Toronto, Canada, b. 1999

Wenwei Chen graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Media Arts in 2021 and from the Ontario University of Art and Design with a Master of Arts in Art, Design and Media in 2024.

Chen is a photographer and graphic designer whose work operates at the boundary of image-making and spatial perception. With a background in brand strategy where editorial design plays a central role, she approaches photography not as a passive act of documentation, but as an active medium for interrogating architecture, material decay, and the psychological weight of built environments. Her work operates at the intersection of image-making and spatial perception, exploring how memory, intuition, and architectural logic converge through layered references and algorithmic thinking.
