  • In his artistic practice, Wang is meticulous about his choice and handling of materials. He prefers wood for its gentle warmth, with growth rings and scars that record the passage of time, much like the human life journey. His creative process is complex and detailed, from selecting and washing the material, trimming the roots, to crafting the piece. Each step is rigorously controlled, reflecting his high standards for carving materials. The softness and hardness of the wood vary; the former is easier to carve, while the latter is more challenging. This deep understanding of the material and his exquisite craftsmanship make each of his works unique and full of vitality.
