Zhao Yongchang is a sculptor deeply influenced by Eastern Romanticism. He stands on the shoulders of the quintessence of Eastern culture, such as "The Book of Changes" and "The Book of Mountains and Seas", embraces art as a medium to liberate the soul and escape from reality, and internalizes delicate thoughts into sculptures. Zhao's exploration of the world transcends the boundaries of time and embodies the collective spirit that transcends eras. He creates countless vast lands that exude infinite freedom and tenacity on sculptures with infinite possibilities.

  • Human and animal forms are intertwined in Zhao's artistic vocabulary. Both Thomas More's "Utopia" and Tao Yuanming's "Peach Blossom Spring" try to describe an "ideal world" to us.

混沌是《山海经》中记载的一个神兽，一个小孩站在混沌头上，双手张开，右脚微微往前探步，像一种朦窦初开的状态，既在极力维持着身体的平衡，又仿佛在寻找着什么。
